RePurpose YOUR Future Art Workshops and Exhibition

24th February @ 10:00 am - 22nd March @ 5:00 am AEDT

Free

Scheduled to take place at the Footscray Connectivity Centre from February 24 to March 22, 2024, this month-long youth-focused professional art exhibition is designed to empower school-aged participants in Melbourne.

The event is entirely free and aims to provide young artists with the tools and inspiration to create unique art installations and artworks, both 2D and 3D, using locally sourced recycled materials.

The project focuses on environmental themes and sustainability, encouraging youth to envision and express their dreams for the future while being environmentally conscious.

The workshops, scheduled for February 24 & 25, will guide participants in creating their artworks, fostering creativity, and promoting thoughtful use of materials to divert items from landfills.

Participants will have the opportunity to take part in every step of the process, from creating their artworks to helping installing them at the exhibition.

The Opening Night, named ‘RePurpose Your Future,’ will be held on February 25, from 5 – 6.30 pm – featuring the youth’s artworks. Local businesses will be donating surplus food and beverages for the event.
