Ernest Aines: Shifting Scenes, Melbourne

17th May @ 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm AEST
AUD4 – AUD45

Experience the extraordinary talent of acclaimed Australian singer-songwriter Ernest Aines, whose emotionally rich songwriting, intricate guitar work, and captivating voice have earned him growing international recognition. Ernest brings his new live show, Shifting Scenes, to audiences with a fresh and evolving sound, introducing electric guitar alongside his signature fingerstyle acoustic playing to create a dynamic and immersive performance.

A two-time nominee for Australian Folk Artist of the Year (2023 and 2024), Ernest has quickly established himself as one of Australia’s most compelling contemporary songwriters. His debut album Spiral Bound — described by Rhythms Magazine as “a sonic tapestry that is just breathtaking” — has amassed over one million streams and continues to resonate with listeners worldwide.

Ernest’s live performances have taken him to some of the most respected stages in folk and roots music, including Cambridge Folk Festival, Celtic Connections in Glasgow, and Folk Alliance International, where his performance was recorded for inclusion in the Library of Congress archive. He has also performed live for the BBC, further cementing his reputation as a powerful and authentic live artist.

Often compared to artists such as Ray LaMontagne, Bon Iver, and Nick Drake, Ernest Aines delivers performances that are intimate, emotionally resonant, and deeply transportive. Shifting Scenes promises a soul-stirring evening of music — a rare opportunity to experience an artist at a compelling and creative moment in his career.
